Ignition has announced that it has achieved B Corp accreditation, underscoring its commitment to doing business the ‘right way’ and sustainably.
Achieving B Corp accreditation is no small feat. The process of becoming a Certified B Corporation involves rigorous assessments to demonstrate a company’s social and environmental performance throughout its supply chain.
As part of that process, companies have to undertake the ‘B Impact Assessment’ which includes a 200-question survey measuring the company’s environmental performance. To be successful, firms must achieve a score of 80+ points, which the majority of businesses do not pass the first time around.
Achieving the necessary standards to secure accreditation is, says Ignition, a testament to the positive workplace culture at the firm developed via employee-centric policies to create an environment where colleagues feel empowered, valued and motivated. These policies, alongside the full commitment of the leadership team, have seen Ignition introduce a diversity panel and an internal wellbeing officer as it tackles known issues within the industry head on. Ignition has also been able to demonstrate its commitment to the environment as active supporters ‘Trees for Cities’: a charity that aims to plant trees in urban areas and create greener cities.
Alex McPherson, Founder and Partner at Ignition Law, commented on the achievement said: “I am so pleased that Ignition has become B Corp accredited. It’s been a massive amount of work behind the scenes but our clients have been incredibly encouraging and supportive. Being a B Corp signifies a commitment to being held accountable for social and environmental performance through regular assessments. It firmly aligns with our long-term strategy of being a ‘force for good’ and our desire for continuous improvement.
“We’ve learnt a lot about our business as a result and we’re thankful to the B Corp community who continue to offer a large opportunity for collaboration and networking. Increasingly, we’re finding that business owners and leadership teams want to work with people who share similar values and walk-the-walk rather than just talk-the-talk. B-Corp extends beyond a simple certification; it is about being a valued member of the community.”
