Higgs LLP beats competitors to rank top firm in Q1 2025 Legal LinkedInfluencers report

Higgs LLP has emerged as the top-performing law firm in the latest Legal LinkedInfluencers report, published today by TBD Marketing.

The report, now in its sixth edition, analyses LinkedIn engagement from across the legal sector – and this quarter it’s bigger than ever.

Despite fierce competition and a rising benchmark – the new cut-off to make the top 100 sits at 2,000 likes, up from 1,900 in the previous quarter – Higgs LLP leads the law firm pack, with seven individuals ranked in the UK’s top 100.

That’s 50% more than any other firm, and the team at Higgs also secured the highest combined power score of any ranked law firm – a measure of consistent, high-impact visibility and engagement.

Higgs also has one of the highest ranked overall individuals, Sophie Wardell, who has come second in this quarter’s rankings for her performance on LinkedIn.

Michelle Hughes, Head of Digital Marketing at Higgs LLP, said:

“For Higgs, this means our people are doing the talking and really showcasing our CLEAR values every single day – and for that reason we’re thrilled! Our USP is most definitely our people, and to have seven of our wonderful team in the top 100 means we must be doing something right and to be the first firm to ever achieve that is incredible.

“Posting on LinkedIn is much more than just another vanity metric. It’s about getting to know the person behind the profile – whether we’re posting about our weekend jaunt, some legal guidance, a recent case win or a new pet hate, it’s about learning more about the real person at Higgs LLP – that’s what our clients buy into, and probably the reason why we’re celebrating a real legacy at the firm this year of 150 years of excellence – it’s people driven, every time.

“It great for business growth – I’ve connected with so many industry thought leaders because their content is so engaging, and we had some of them come and deliver brilliant talks at a recent client event. And our team have done the same. It’s opened up new opportunities for us, people now know who some of our people are, and what Higgs is like as a workplace and of course we have generated enquiries from people we may never have reached without our people promoting their personal brand. “

The Legal LinkedInfluencers rankings were created to celebrate the legal professionals who are actively using LinkedIn to build their presence, connect with audiences, and strengthen both personal and firm brand. Over time, the reports have reflected wider shifts in the sector – from individual early adopters to firm-wide participation.

Simon Marshall, founder of TBD Marketing and curator of the rankings, said:

“When we started these rankings, it was mostly mavericks – the bold voices willing to step out on their own. Now we’re seeing firm-wide momentum. What Higgs has done this quarter is significant. They’ve not only had more people in the top 100 than any other firm, they’ve also outperformed on overall engagement. That kind of consistency doesn’t happen by accident – it’s a cultural signal that says ‘we’re in’.

“And the results speak for themselves. You don’t need a huge comms team or mega-budget to do well here. You need people who are encouraged to show up, add value, and be themselves. Higgs are doing that, and it’s working.”

Higgs LLP’s performance demonstrates the power of enabling people to build their own voice, and how that can deliver real impact for a firm’s visibility, culture, and business development.
